Anil success began with humble beginnings as he graduated from the University of Bombay now University of Mumbai with a Bachelor Degree in Science. He furthered his study bagging a Masters degree in Business Administration from the Wharton School At the University of Pennsylvania. He was born with a silver spoon with an Indian business tycoon for a father, Dhirubhai Ambani on June 4th ,1959.

Anil is married to a famous Indian actress, Tina Ambani with whom they have two sons;  Jai Anmol and Jai Anshul
He joined the Reliance group in 1983 as a co- Chief Executive officer before the split of the company which led him to assume the position of the CEO of the Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group (ADAG) The Reliance group strived under the leadership of Anil’s company. He presided over the Reliance Group as the Chairman and includes companies like Reliance Communication, Reliance Capital, Reliance Energy, Reliance Natural Resources Ltd.

“It is hope in this wider sense which enabled my father build from scratch, one of India’s largest modern enterprises. It was an undertaken powered by hard work, initiative, self belief, but above all else, the capacity as he would often say, to dream with your eyes wide open” He used his father as a daily role model; he has been tagged by many as a man of great courage.

With the biggest India history of raising $3billion from the Initial Public Offering of Reliance Power less than 15 months. Anil presided over various organisations like the Dhirubhai Ambani Institute of Information and Communication Technology, Gandhinagar; and a member of Wharton Board of Overseers; The Wharton School, USA; Board of Governors, Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Ahmedabad; Board of Governors, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kanpur; Executive Board, Indian School of Business (ISB), Hyderabad.

His total net worth as at October 2007 ranked in USD $42 Billion and his personal stake weighted up to 66% of the Reliance Group shares.
